$5 AN97 First Prefix & DN97 Last Prefix Australian Banknotes

Hi All,

Considering all the $5 Test Notes, the most sort after would definitely be the $5 AN97 first prefix banknote followed by the DN97 last prefix banknote. I have sighted and seen a few examples through sites and on eBay and have observed the following prices:

AN97 FINE $1800

DN97 UNC $6500 AUD

DN97 ABOUT FINE to FINE $375 AUD

UNC examples clearly are quite price sensitive. Making up the set of 40 Test Notes is a great achievement and a great way to build up your collection. From what I have observed other than AN97, CY97, DN97, the others appear to be quite easy to get in UNC grades. If you did complete a set of 40 Test Notes that would hold a premium if you decide to sell. Depending on your current collection and what is available at the time that you are interested purchasing them can make the difference. Collectors have been also trying to collect matching number sequences of the Test Notes in efforts of constructing a SET also – VERY VERY DIFFICULT TO ACHIEVE and possible !
